Line down middle of screen
The same transformer which produces the brightness power , also produces width, so
switch off quick, or things will blow.
Find the line output transistor(loptr) it has tree legs and is usually bolted/clipped to a metal heatsink plate to keep it cool.
Its usually very near the LOPTX flyback transformer
Find the collector (middle leg) and follow the printed circuit till you get to the scan coil plug (looking for burnt pins as you go).
The width scan circuit consists of three main bits, the scan coils, the "S correction capacitor", and the linearity coils, they are all connected in series (any order)
First check the scan coils, The connections , (both ends) and the small pcb on the scancoils, then measure the resistance of them, 1 to 5 ohms is ok
Now find and test the S corrections cap ,its usually 220nf to 1uf at 250v-400v , look for burnt ends and/or swollen case
Now find the Linearity/width coils, these are fairly big , sometimes with an adjustable core
They measure very low zero on my meter. 1 or 2 ohms
